Seidel® Bark Veg Retan

Developed by Seidel exclusively for Oak Street Bootmakers, this full-grain, twice-tanned leather has a soft, matte finish with a fine nap more akin to nubuck than suede or roughout. Despite being lightweight and soft-to-the-touch, this is a firm-handed hide with all the durability one would expect of a top-tier boot-grade leather. Such "soft strength" is made possible by being tanned in chrome and again in a bath of bark and vegetable oils. This eliminates the need for hot-stuffing and wax finishing typical of a chrome tannage—so despite feeling soft and supple, the leather retains a more natural and raw appearance.
