"The sole that conquered Everest" is still made in the USA and still the sole of choice for mountaineers, firefighters, loggers, motorcyclists—and just about anyone whose life may depend on their soles maintaining traction. And thanks to Vibram's proprietary SBR compound, the 100 can withstand exposure to various oils, solvents, and a wide range of temperatures. However, durability is where this sole truly stands apart from its peers, as it is one of the few lugged soles that can hold up on pavement as well as turf.
Seidel's Logger is a workhorse leather from a simpler time, when durability was achieved not with clever chemistry and exotic extracts, but with the thickest steer hides tanned in tallow and chestnut oil. This 7–8oz leather features a confidence-inspiring firm hand, consistent grain, and subtle aniline finish.
