Dr. Sole 1091 Cork Half Sole

Dr. Sole 1091 Cork Half Sole Technical Drawing

The 1091 Cork Sole is more than a faithful recreation of the hard rubber cork soles used widely in the mid-twentieth century in applications ranging from military to motorsports. This sole is lighter, grippier, and more shock-absorbent without compromising the durability or oil resistance for which cork soles are known. Each sole is affixed to a thick layer of leather, finished with brass tacks, and paired with a matching Dr. Sole 1101w Cork Heel.

Nemesi by Badalassi Carlo

Badalassi's Nemesi (Nemesis) is vegetable tanned in Italy and features beautifully subtle variations throughout the hide. Its drum stained with a rustic aniline finish and further polished with a stone glaze, giving a mild sheen to the surface. Due to the light milling process, Nemesi retains its original firm temper, making it strong enough for a service boot. It develops a light but distinctive patina over time, with worn areas being particularly prone to deep and dark tones.

Fully Recraftable

Oak Street Bootmakers Recrafting Services Icon

All our footwear is 100% recraftable, meaning it can be re-soled again and again.

Now take one of our cowhides and you may begin…not to look at it but to read it. It will reveal you its past, its story and its fundamental features of the natural vegetable tanned leather: the wrinkles, the inevitable imperfections of the leather surface, the differences of colour and of grain from lot to lot from skin to skin and in the same skin.
